Before Hurricane Katrina ever made landfall in New Orleans, Louisiana in September 2005, Charles C. Brandt Construction Co. (CCB) received a call from The Feil Organization to be on alert that our help would be needed with their properties once the storm was over.
By the time this 21-story Class A office tower, with six parking levels, sustained severe damage due to Katrina, CCB had already organized supplies, fuel and manpower and set up a base site to work from in New Orleans.
Assessing the damages sustained to a building of this magnitude was not an easy task. Each floor had to be evaluated and every scope of work necessary had to be reviewed. Repairs to this landmark later included everything from parking garage repairs, concrete coatings, EIFS repairs, insulation replacement, painting, wallcovering, HVAC, electrical and finally, replacing approximately 800 windows on the exterior of the building.
Once again, due to our working relationship with the client, our reputation lead to a request for help before the damages even occurred.
