On Friday, November 15, 2015, Charles C. Brandt Construction was pleased to participate in the ribbon cutting of The Shops at Perry Crossing, a renovated lifestyle center located in Plainfield, Indiana. The mall was previously known as the Metropolis Lifestyle Center but was purchased by a new owner, Poag Shopping Centers, of Memphis, Tennessee in late 2014 who hired our skilled team to renovate and assist in their re-branding process.  Our crew diligently worked for about six months making improvements to the 600,000-square-foot outdoor shopping center including additional parking, lighting and several outdoor amenities that can be enjoyed year-round.

Renovations to the property include a redesigned central plaza, now called Town Square, with inviting open areas to accommodate events, such as a planned movie series on the lawn. Every member of the family can come to the shopping center now that the entire property is dog-friendly and pet stations are planned. The new Town Square also features a gazebo and fireplace to warm yourself on the crisp nights in the winter and a splash pad where kids can play in the hot summer. Children will also love to walk on the bridge over the new koi pond and throw food to the fish. In addition, more than 70 parking spots have been added and most of the parallel parking spots have been replaced with user-friendly head-in spots, making parking much easier and less distressing for some drivers. Additional signage, improved lighting and a peaceful water wall also enhance the shopping and dining experience.

After opening in 2005, residents have been able to appreciate different types of cuisines, a variety of shops, and plenty of movies for all ages to enjoy at The Shops at Perry Crossing. The city has high hopes that after our extensive renovation process, the center will be a beneficial tourist attraction.
